Fast Growth Is Fragile — Here’s What Lasts

Going slow isn’t giving up.

It’s alignment.
Because from this new vantage point, everything feels more clear than ever.

Why I Finally Trust the Slow Path

Fifteen years ago, I never would’ve believed that going slow actually works. Back then, I was always hustling — pushing, grinding, trying to find the one shortcut I was missing.

I had the lists, the goals, the plans.
But underneath it? A constant feeling of being behind.

I chased results, even when it cost me my health and peace of mind. That version of growth was driven by tools I learned in corporate — but it was fragile.

When Slow Is the Only Gear Left

The last few weeks brought this lesson home.

Just days before vacation, I came down with the flu. Fever, fatigue, and a cough so bad I lost my voice. I couldn’t push through. Slow was the only gear left.

And in that forced downtime, I saw something I hadn’t wanted to face: I was still carrying pressure I didn’t need.

Pressure to optimize.
To get ahead.
To do it right.
Even now.

Slowing down helped me feel it.
Release it.
And now, I can’t unsee what fast was masking.

The Power of Slowness

Nature already knows this.

The things that grow fast? Usually weeds.
The strong, lasting things — trees, roots, resilience — they take time.

Our bodies know it too.
A slow stretch reaches deeper than a bounce.
A steady rep does more than a single heave.
Growth like this? It lasts.

What’s Ready to Be Released?

This week, I’m asking:

What happens when I choose to slow down and listen to my soul?
And for you: What old pattern is ready to be released?

“You can’t force a flower to bloom faster by pulling on its petals.”
— Zen proverb
