You Haven't Lost Your Confidence. You've Lost Sight of It.

Person looking through binoculars with red-tinted lenses against a softly blurred sky.

Maybe confidence isn't missing. Maybe you're just looking for it in the wrong place.

People often tell me they want to get their confidence back.

I understand what they mean. But I don't think confidence works that way.

I don't think confidence is something you lose.

I think it's something you stop seeing.

We often look for confidence in symbols of success, other people's approval, or the myth that one day we'll stop experiencing self-doubt.

Meanwhile, as you debate this with yourself, confidence is already showing up.

It's in the conversation you finally had.

  • The boundary you finally set.

  • The decision you made without having all the answers.

  • The project you started before you felt ready.

  • The action that feels obvious today but once felt like a stretch.

The stories we tell ourselves can make those moments feel too small to count.

So we keep looking for confidence somewhere else.

Maybe you don't need to get your confidence back.

Maybe you just need to recognize where it's already been quietly showing up.
